Notice to Craftsmen and Craftswomen
When you visit the products pages you will find retrospective articles about amulets of different types, rune sets, gandrs, pendulums and all the other products that I used to make.

The rune sets always attracted a lot of interest and were in great demand, and the range of amulets was always popular. They featured single runes, personal monogram bindrunes, bindrunes for dozens of practical purposes, even some for pet protection.

I can still do all the design work for the entire range of products. I can supply you with artwork you can copy, provide explanatory pdfs and documentation that you can use for paper leaflets and packaging. I can't make the actual physical products any more because arthritis in my fingers is too far advanced these days. But I still get a lot of enquiries from visitors who want something made, so we could set up a co-operative service and supply them from this website . Visit this new mini-site if you're interested.

A Runic Empowerment Ritual
This new e-book (April 2011) at last reveals the full empowerment ritual I have used for the activation of divining runes, amulets, and tattoo designs for many years. The 19-page ebook in full color is priced at US$2.95 and includes:
     ●
An illustrated article on the creation of a Vé (a sacred space) for rune work with detailed instructions.
     ● The full ritual with illustrations.
     ● All incantations for the empowerment of a runic design on a solid surface or on skin for a tattoo.
     ● Some useful pointers on devising your own personal ritual elements and incantations.
     ● Plus a free bonus of 11 decorative Nordic and Pictish border designs.
For more information or to order please visit the ebooks page on my author website.

The Runes Forum is now 'Read Only'
The Runes Forum has now run its course and the pro version advertisement-free service was discontinued on March 17th 2010.

My thanks to all contributors in the past for making the early years full of lively discussion. However, over the last 2 years of the Forum's existence the volume of postings had dried to a trickle and it was no longer cost effective to keep on paying the hosting fees, nor sensible to keep the volunteer moderators looking out for new messages that happened so infrequently.

There are still over 300 threads and a total of more than 1700 posts available to view for the meantime, but the pages are now hosted by the Bravenet free service which inevitably carries a lot of advertising in banners and popups etc. No new posts are being accepted and the forum will I suppose eventually get deleted.

If there is anyone out there who would like to take over the name "The Runes Forum" it is for sale. Or indeed, if anyone would like to take over the forum as it stands and re-open it a transfer of ownership can be arranged. The hosting fee was something like 50 bucks a year the last time I checked. Contact me for more information.

Production of physical products discontinued
I am sorry to say that from March 2010 I will no longer be making any physical products. Rune sets, runic pendulums, and rune staffs have been discontinued since 2007, and now the amulets of all types will also be discontinued as well, although I still offer artwork services. E-products such as e-Books, fonts, transcription and the artwork services are still operative and will continue to be available.

This has been a very difficult decision for me, but one that I should have made years ago, I have simply been putting it off for too long. The fact is I have been in poor health for some time and with arthritis in my fingers steadily getting worse it is now close to impossible to make these products.

Long absences from the workshop and interruptions to my work have soaked up too much of my available time and I therefore decided not to take on any new orders for hard products. People have been telling me for years I was killing myself with work and I laughed. But maybe now I am starting to believe them.

When you visit the rune wares pages where all the products were featured you will now see a series of "retrospectives" for those who are interested in the range of products that were available in the past. These pages might help when some of my products show up for resale on eBay and other similar auction websites.

The retrospectives will remain on the website primarily for the guidance of crafters who may be considering a co-operative arrangement to offer their own products on runemaker.com.

"Discovering Runes" by Bob Oswald

I wanted to publish something that would be useful to both experienced runesters and to novices in a down to earth and friendly style and without getting too technical. So now I have written Discovering Runes which I hope will be an interesting and informative read as well as being a vital reference book for rune users of all abilities.

It is published by one of England's most popular and highly respected illustrated book publishers Regency House Publications, and distributed by Book Mart in UK and Chartwell Books in the USA. It has 256 glossy pages of 8x8 inches (200x200mm) with 260 full color illustrations.

The book is widely available from good bookstores and online booksellers at modest prices, but a personally signed and dedicated first edition is only available from runemaker.com or boboswald.com. Please click here to load the order form. Temporarily out of stock - please call back. The prices including packaging, shipping and tax are:

United Kingdom: GB£ 8.95
Europe: EC€ 17.00
USA, Canada US$32.95
Rest of the world: US$ 35.95

All copies of Discovering Runes supplied from this website will be first editions personally signed and dedicated by me. If you would like a special message above my signature, just write it in the "Other Information" box on the shopping cart and I will confirm your request before shipping the book.

Runezine Discontinued
If you have read the above posting about production cut-backs you will know that my ageing body has been letting me down somewhat of late. Sadly, the Runezine e-zine is another thing I decided to give up.

I ran the Runezine project from 2001 until it was finally closed down at the end of August 2007. Runezine subscribers were contacted and asked if they wanted to subscribe to a new list. If you missed out on that but would like to receive very occasional email news messages from Runemaker Group, please click this link to subscribe. My sincere thanks to all Runezine readers for their support in the past, I hope everyone found it interesting and occasionally useful.

Enjoy your site visit, and use the Contact page if you want to get in touch.
May the best of good fortune follow you always,

Bob Oswald
