fully empowered wooden rune sets handcrafted in England
Oswald's world-famous rune sets are used by serious amateur runecasters, professional occultists, top
runemasters and runemistresses. The sets have been featured in magazines such as Prediction and Gilt Edged Goblin and were recently
seen on American TV in a program about divination entitled Oracle. I have scores of testimonials from satisfied customers who have found them the
most accurate and highly responsive rune casting sets ever made. Oswald rune sets are the only divining runes
personally endorsed by Freya Aswynn, the world's foremost
living runemistress. The thrill of casting with fully empowered hand-crafted runes has to be experienced to be believed. You will wonder how you ever managed
with plain factory-produced runes and their bland, ambiguous responses - if they respond at all.
Every rune set includes 24 runes plus 1 blank, an introductory eBook on floppy disk or CD-ROM and a casting bag.
The 24 Runes are hand made from windfall or forested branches of Ash, Willow, Cottonwood, Poplar, Alder, Witch Elm, and other wild
woods. I never take wood from living trees. Each set is cut from a single branch, polished and varnished with a durable non-toxic water-based
finish (except Thrifty runes - they are not varnished).
I only use the original 24 runes myself for divination, but I know a lot of people like to have a blank to represent Destiny or Fate. That is
quite a modern idea, so you can just keep the blank as a spare if you prefer. For more information about the controversial blank, read
the rune meaning page, the FAQs, or browse the
Runes Forum where the matter has been discussed at length. The runes are hand marked by the pokerwork technique using a hot iron tool in the traditional manner. There is only one exception -
the runes of RS62 are carved with an electric tool then colored with a special pigment of natural materials to my own specification.

Boxes are made from recycled timber - primarily Birch plywood from used tea-chests, Beech, Ash and Boxwood from furniture factory
and lumber yard offcuts, and Mahogany from old doorframes. Boxes are decorated with designs as specified for each product, then varnished
and polished. The interior is fabric-lined to match the rune bag. The full-size sets are divided into small compartments, one for each rune.
All rune sets are supplied with a provenance statement giving the serial number, the wood, where it is from, and the date the set was made.
The boxed sets have a provenance card on the inside of the box lid. With the
other sets, the statement can be found on the floppy diskette or CD-Rom supplied
with the set. The history of every set is kept in perpetuity, along with a few spare blanks that can be used to replace lost or damaged runes in years to
come.
All products are individually made by hand in my own workshop (I call it the Runeworks) in Buckinghamshire in the heart of England.
